# You reached a plan limit

Recognize the podcast, publish, upload, seat, and clip limits of current plans and recover.

Use this article when Podigee blocks an action with a message about your plan limit. The action can be the creation or publication of a podcast, the publication of an episode, an audio or video upload, a team member invitation, or a social clip.

## Protect your work

* A limit blocks new actions only. Published episodes, uploaded files, existing members and existing clips stay as they are.
* Check the usage page before you delete content to make room. Deleted clips still count against the monthly clip allowance.
* Limits apply to the plan of the podcast owner, not to the person who performs the action.

### Find the cause

1. Read the message. Each limit has its own text, listed below.
2. Open the user menu and select **My account**, then open the **Usage** tab to see the used and included amounts.
3. Check the reset date in the message. Monthly allowances reset once a month on the renewal date of the subscription, regardless of whether you pay monthly or yearly.

![Usage tab of My account in the classic view with the banner You have exceeded one or more limits and the Podcast Licenses card marked Exceeded with 3 of 1 used](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-a8726c8cdda475ff8e3df7466d1130a1e6dfab01%2Fdoc-account-005-classic-usage-tab.png?alt=media)

The Usage tab shows each allowance with the used and included amount and marks an exceeded limit.

### Recover

#### Podcast limit

Current plans include a fixed number of podcast licenses.

* **You're close to your plan's limit. No worries, you can keep creating or importing podcasts and using them, as long as you stay within the limit.**: no action needed yet.
* **You've reached your plan's podcast limit.** with **Upgrade your plan or add licenses to create more podcasts.**: you cannot create a podcast. Organization members see **Ask your admin to upgrade the plan**.
* **Your plan includes ... podcast(s); you currently have .... This podcast is over your plan limit. Delete a podcast or upgrade to publish episodes here.**: the newest podcasts above the limit cannot publish episodes.

1. Delete a podcast that you no longer need, or upgrade the plan. See [Delete a podcast](/documentation/create-and-publish/hosting-and-management/delete-a-podcast.md) and [Upgrade your plan](/documentation/connect-and-administer/account-and-team/upgrade-your-plan.md).
2. Publish the episode again.

The podcast limit does not block an import from another host, but the imported podcast counts afterwards.

#### Episode publish limit on Launch

The Launch plan includes 4 episode publications per billing period. Paid plans include unlimited publishing.

* **You've reached the episode publish limit (4) for your current billing period (...). Upgrade to publish more.**: wait for the next billing period, or upgrade.
* **This episode already counts toward your billing period ... Keep the publication date within that period or upgrade to publish more.**: you moved a published episode to a date in another period. Keep the publication date within the current period.

#### Audio and video upload allowance

* Audio: Launch includes 60 minutes of audio in total for the lifetime of the account. Paid plans have no audio limit. The message reads **This audio file is ... long. You have ... of audio allowance left before uploads are blocked.** The **Usage** tab reads **Audio publishing limit reached** and **You have used ... minutes of your ...-minute audio publishing limit.**
* Video minutes: each plan includes a number of video minutes per billing period. Podigee allows 10 percent more than the included minutes before it blocks. The message reads **This video is ... long. You have ... of video allowance left before uploads are blocked.**
* Video episodes: the first video upload of an episode counts as one video episode. Launch counts video episodes for the lifetime of the account, other plans per billing period. The message reads **You have reached the number of video uploads included in your plan for this billing period. Your limit resets on ...**
* Podigee can also refuse a video upload when the extracted audio would exceed the audio allowance.

1. For video allowances, wait for the reset date or upgrade. The audio allowance on Launch does not reset. Upgrade to a paid plan.
2. Upload the file again.

Podigee checks the upload allowance against the subscription of the podcast owner, even when an editor uploads. The upload allowance does not block an import from another host.

#### Team seat limit

Current plans include a number of seats. The owner, every organization member, and every podcast editor who did not refuse the invitation use one seat each. When all seats are used, Podigee refuses an editor invitation with **You have reached your team seat limit. Upgrade to invite more editors.** On the organization **Members** tab the **Invite member** button is disabled with **You've reached the limit of members, get unlimited members now by contacting our sales department.**

1. Remove a member or an editor who no longer needs access, or upgrade.
2. Send the invitation again.

Organizations on older plans have a limit of 10 members unless the plan includes unlimited members. See [Invite and manage organization members](/documentation/connect-and-administer/account-and-team/invite-and-manage-organization-members.md) and [Invite editors to a podcast](/documentation/connect-and-administer/account-and-team/invite-editors-to-a-podcast.md).

#### Social clips limit

Each plan includes a number of social clips per billing period. Every clip that you create in Clipper counts, including clips that you delete later. Clipper shows **Clips left: ...**.

* **You've used all your clips this month** with **You've reached your monthly social clips limit. Your allowance resets on ... - upgrade for more.**: wait for the reset date or select **See plans**.
* **Social Clips aren't part of your plan yet** with **Upgrade your plan to turn your episodes into short, shareable video and audio clips.**: the plan includes no clips. Select **See plans**.

The **Usage** tab shows the **Social clips** card with the used and included amount.

### Expected result

The **Usage** tab shows the used amount below the included amount, and the blocked action succeeds.

The Podigee workspace does not include the plan and usage view yet. Switch to the classic view to see the used and included amounts of your plan and to upgrade.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.podigee.com/documentation/connect-and-administer/troubleshooting/you-reached-a-plan-limit.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
