# Complete your first Marketplace deal

Enroll inventory, qualify a buyer, commit a deal, and confirm delivery readiness.

This tutorial shows how to complete one Marketplace deal in the Podigee Audio Video Ad Server. You will enroll an Inventory package, check a buyer, commit the commercial terms, and confirm that the resulting Campaign can deliver.

The example uses an audio deal. Use the same sequence for video when the Inventory package, creative, placements, and delivery destination support video.

## Before you start

You need:

* Access to **Monetization** and permission to manage Inventory, Marketplace buyers, deals, and Campaigns.
* A published Inventory package that is ready for booking.
* An approved publisher policy for the package.
* A buyer record with a current credit limit and eligibility result.
* An approved audio or video creative for the advertised brand.
* Active ad breaks for the podcast content that the deal can use.
* The order number, schedule, booked volume, rate, budget, fee, settlement terms, and purchase order reference for the deal.

Use test values only in a local or training workspace. Use the buyer's approved commercial terms in a live workspace.

## 1. Enroll the Inventory package

1. Go to **Monetization > Marketplace**.
2. Find the published package under **Sellable inventory**.
3. Confirm that its formats, markets, sales window, and available capacity match the offer.
4. Select **Enroll**.
5. Set the selling currency and minimum price.
6. Set the Podigee fee, buyer eligibility, demand priority, settlement terms, and publisher payout.
7. Set a Marketplace sales period that is inside the package sales window.
8. Add a short operations note when it helps another operator understand the offer.
9. Confirm the action and select **Enroll package**.

![Marketplace enrollment form with the selected Inventory package, selling currency, minimum price basis, minimum price, and Podigee fee.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-df277358279f499f9848363f336df1b0faf3d3f0%2Fdoc-monetization-009-enrollment-terms.png?alt=media)

*Start the enrollment with the exact package, selling currency, minimum price, and fee.*

The package changes to **Accepting demand** when the enrollment becomes active. A future start time keeps the package unavailable until that time.

## 2. Check the buyer

1. Find the buyer under **Buyer readiness**.
2. Confirm that the buyer is **Eligible**.
3. Compare the current exposure with the credit limit.
4. Select **Review buyer** when you need the qualification record or must update the buyer.
5. Stop if the buyer is blocked, the credit limit is missing, or the expected deal would exceed the approved limit.

![Marketplace buyer readiness with the buyer name, current exposure, credit limit, eligibility state, and review action.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-39458b49b829a75400419ea6293b9a6fe6f8b636%2Fdoc-monetization-009-buyer-readiness.png?alt=media)

*Buyer readiness shows whether the buyer can make a new commitment before you create the deal.*

Do not reduce the booked amount only to bypass a failed credit check. Correct the buyer record or obtain the required commercial approval.

## 3. Start the deal

1. Select **Start a deal**.
2. Select the qualified buyer.
3. Select the enrolled Inventory package.
4. Enter the deal or insertion-order number.
5. Confirm the buyer company and advertised brand.
6. Set the start and end time inside the Inventory and Marketplace sales periods.

*The deal plan binds the order to the exact buyer, Inventory package, company, brand, and schedule.*

## 4. Set delivery and money terms

1. Keep **Podigee marketplace** as the booking channel.
2. Select **Audio** or **Video**.
3. Select what the buyer pays for, such as **Qualified audio impression**.
4. Enter the booked volume.
5. Select the pricing model and enter the rate.
6. Enter the budget. For cost per thousand impressions (CPM) pricing, the budget must equal the booked volume divided by 1,000, multiplied by the rate.
7. Select the currency.
8. Select the commercial commitment and capacity commitment.
9. Confirm the markets and content categories.
10. Confirm the Podigee fee, buyer settlement, publisher payout, and purchase order reference.

![Marketplace delivery and pricing terms with the booking channel, media, billable outcome, volume, CPM rate, budget, and currency.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-d1886cf37721ad24ffff68c9a93754d1a3eeb4ca%2Fdoc-monetization-009-pricing-settlement.png?alt=media)

*The delivery and pricing terms define what can deliver and what the buyer will pay.*

![Marketplace commitment and settlement terms with reserved capacity, markets, content category, Podigee fee, buyer settlement, publisher payout, and purchase order reference.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-23c8d2dd35d119091275e3c900863c9d59f0d6d7%2Fdoc-monetization-009-settlement-payout.png?alt=media)

*The settlement terms define the commitments, sales scope, fee, payment term, payout, and finance reference.*

For example, 1,000 impressions at a CPM of 24.50 have a budget of 24.50. Stop if the calculated budget does not match the signed order.

## 5. Commit the deal

1. Review every deal term against the signed order.
2. Enter a short reason for the commitment.
3. Select **I reviewed these details and authorize this action**.
4. Select **Apply action**.
5. Open **Monetization > Marketplace** and confirm that the deal appears under **Committed deals**.

The commitment creates the Campaign, delivery line, and capacity reservation from the same deal. It does not make an unready Campaign deliver.

## 6. Complete Campaign readiness

1. Open the Campaign from **Monetization > Campaigns**.
2. Confirm that **Commercial ready** and **Inventory ready** are complete.
3. Assign the approved creative to the delivery line.
4. Confirm that **Creative ready** is complete.
5. Confirm that the reserved flight has the correct volume and schedule.
6. Confirm that the podcast has active ad breaks for the required placements.
7. Run the launch check.
8. Do not publish until every required launch check passes.

![A committed Marketplace Campaign with commercial approval, Inventory and reservation, and creative coverage ready, plus the action to open launch checks.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-61a85f638ac04e17eea0886c5e2cad1194dc5704%2Fdoc-monetization-009-campaign-readiness.png?alt=media)

*The Campaign page shows the core readiness state before you open the final launch checks.*

## 7. Find buyer, delivery, and money evidence

Use these areas after you commit the deal:

* **Monetization > Marketplace** shows the enrolled package, buyer readiness, and committed deal.
* **Monetization > Campaigns** shows the Campaign, delivery line, reservation, creative, and launch state.
* **Monetization > Evidence & Money** shows delivery, revenue, fee, settlement, payout, and reconciliation evidence after delivery data arrives.

Keep the purchase order and deal number consistent with your finance system. This makes it easier to reconcile the buyer invoice and publisher payout.

## If the deal cannot deliver

Check these items in order:

1. The Inventory package is published, enrolled, active, and ready for booking.
2. The buyer is eligible and has enough available credit.
3. The deal schedule is inside the Inventory and Marketplace sales periods.
4. The booked media, billable outcome, markets, and categories match the package.
5. The budget matches the volume, pricing model, and rate.
6. Capacity is reserved for the exact delivery line.
7. An approved and compatible creative is assigned.
8. The podcast content has active ad breaks.
9. The launch check has no failed authority, media, rights, or delivery result.

Correct the failed item and run the check again. Do not create a second deal only to hide an incorrect package, buyer, reservation, or Campaign.

## Result

The Marketplace deal is committed to an eligible buyer and an exact Inventory package. The Campaign has consistent commercial terms, reserved capacity, and an assigned creative. It can be published after its placements are active and every required launch check passes.

Next, use [Follow one ad from request to money](/documentation/grow-and-monetize/monetization/follow-one-ad-from-request-to-money.md) to inspect delivery and revenue evidence after the Campaign starts.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.podigee.com/documentation/grow-and-monetize/monetization/complete-your-first-marketplace-deal.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
