# Configure review rules

Choose who must review each type of Podigee Ad Server work, save the rule, and understand how the rule affects approval requests.

This task shows how to configure review rules in the Podigee Audio Video Ad Server. Review rules let a one-person operation move quickly and let a larger team require another person for selected decisions.

Review rules change who reviews work. They do not turn off delivery, rights, media, security, or other product safety checks.

## Before you start

You need:

* Access to **Monetization**.
* Workspace administrator permission.
* A decision about which work can use self-confirmation and which work needs another person.
* At least two authorized people if you plan to use **Independent review**.

Changing a rule affects future actions. Work that is already under review keeps its existing rule and evidence.

## Understand the three review modes

Use one of these modes for each type of work:

* **Solo confirmation:** The person who does the work confirms it before it proceeds. Use this mode for a one-person workspace or for work that does not need a separate reviewer.
* **Optional review:** Work can proceed without review. A requested review gives advice, but it does not block the work.
* **Independent review:** A different authorized teammate must approve before the work proceeds. Use this mode when separation between the operator and reviewer is necessary.

Independent review can pause work in a one-person workspace. Add an authorized reviewer or change the rule before you select this mode.

## Choose rules for each type of work

The page separates review rules by business purpose. You can set a different mode for each one.

| Review rule                      | Work that it controls                                                  |
| -------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Campaign commercial approval** | Campaign commercial terms and booking readiness.                       |
| **Guaranteed capacity**          | A commitment of guaranteed inventory capacity to a Campaign.           |
| **Creative suitability**         | Editorial suitability of an ad creative before publication.            |
| **Inventory publication**        | Publication of verified podcast inventory for Campaigns.               |
| **Serving publication**          | Activation of a checked Campaign setup and controlled serving changes. |
| **Seller authority**             | Authority for an organization to sell or represent inventory.          |
| **Marketplace commitments**      | Marketplace enrollment, deals, and important yield decisions.          |
| **Finance controls**             | Invoices, payouts, Settlements, credit, and finance authority changes. |
| **Integration changes**          | Sensitive integration configuration, activation, and suspension.       |
| **Security and privacy**         | Sensitive access, quarantine, incident, and audit actions.             |
| **Operational changes**          | Migration changes, rollbacks, and other controlled operational work.   |
| **Policy governance**            | Publication of policies, access assignments, and custom roles.         |

Start with the smallest level of review that gives your organization the required control. Do not select Independent review for every rule only because the option is available. Too many blocking reviews can delay routine work without improving the result.

## 1. Open Review rules

1. Go to **Monetization > Monetization settings**.
2. Open **Review rules**.
3. Read the three mode descriptions at the top of the page.
4. Find the type of work that you want to change.

## 2. Select a review mode

1. Open **Review mode** for the selected rule.
2. Select **Solo confirmation**, **Optional review**, or **Independent review**.
3. Review the effect on your team before you save.

For example, a solo publisher can use Solo confirmation for Campaign work and Finance controls. A network can use Optional review for routine creative work and Independent review for guaranteed capacity, finance, or security decisions.

## 3. Save and verify the rule

1. Select **Save review rule**.
2. Confirm that **Review rule updated** appears.
3. Confirm that **Current rule** shows the selected mode.
4. Repeat the procedure for each rule that you want to change.

## What happens to approval requests

A review decision applies to the exact version that the reviewer saw. Use these rules when work changes or a review does not approve it:

* **Approved:** The approval applies to the exact reviewed version and its review policy.
* **Rejected:** The request ends with the reviewer's reason. Correct the work and create a new request when you are ready.
* **Returned:** The request ends with instructions for changes. Update the work and create a new request for the changed version.
* **Expired:** The old request cannot approve the work. Create a new request.
* **Canceled or revoked:** The request ends and cannot approve the work. Create a new request if the work must continue.
* **Changed after review:** A material change creates a different version. The previous approval does not apply to that changed version. Request approval again when the active rule requires it.

This exact-version behavior prevents an approval for one set of Campaign terms, creative media, or finance values from approving different values later.

## If Podigee blocks the change

* **You do not have permission:** Ask a workspace administrator to change the rule.
* **Review rule unavailable:** Restore the active rule before you change this setting.
* **A newer rule is waiting:** Complete or withdraw the pending rule change before you make another change.
* **The current rule changed while the page was open:** Refresh the page. Review the current mode, then select and save the intended mode again.
* **Independent review stops a one-person workspace:** Change the rule to Solo confirmation or Optional review, or add a different authorized reviewer.
* **An optional review is still open:** The requested review remains available as advice. It does not block the work.

Podigee keeps the last active rule when a new rule change cannot be applied.

## Result

Each type of Monetization work has a review mode that matches your team and its level of risk. Future actions use the saved rules, while work already under review keeps its existing evidence.
