# Create a make-good or renewal Campaign

Use completed Campaign evidence to prepare a separate renewal proposal or a zero-value make-good Flight without changing the completed Campaign or inventing new revenue.

Use a renewal when the buyer wants a new commercial period. Use a make-good when Podigee must deliver replacement value for a documented shortfall or accepted claim. Both flows create new work and keep the completed Campaign unchanged.

Do not reopen or rewrite the completed Campaign. Its delivery and money evidence must stay available for reporting, settlement, audit, and the next commercial decision.

## Choose the correct follow-up

| Follow-up | Use it when | Commercial treatment |
| --------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Renewal | The buyer wants another paid Campaign or period. | Create a new draft with proposed budget, goal, rate, schedule, and Order reference. |
| Make-good | Podigee owes replacement delivery under an accepted business decision. | Create a Makegood Flight with zero rate and zero budget. Do not count it as new contracted revenue. |

Do not use a make-good to hide normal underdelivery. Record and resolve the delivery issue first.

## Prerequisites

Before you start, make sure that you have these items:

* Permission to use Revenue jobs and create Campaigns.
* A completed source Campaign or signed Order.
* Current delivery and settlement evidence.
* A confirmed buyer contact and commercial owner.
* The new terms for a renewal, or the accepted make-good obligation.

## Prepare a renewal proposal

1. Open **Monetization**.
2. Select **Revenue jobs**.
3. Open **Revenue optimization and renewals**.
4. Select **Prepare a renewal proposal**.
5. Select where the renewal applies.
6. Select the signed **Order to renew**.
7. Check the renewal reference, currency, proposed budget, goal, rate, and dates.
8. Add the purchase Order reference and commercial notes when they are available.
9. Confirm that the attached performance evidence is current.
10. Submit the proposal.

![The One Podigee Revenue job shows a guided renewal proposal with the source Order, performance evidence context, renewal reference, currency, and proposed budget.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-bcce629ae1f886c12e2acf839e17e07727a65f15%2Fdoc-monetization-041-renewal-proposal.jpg?alt=media)

*Start from the signed Order and change only the terms needed for the next agreement.*

The result is an unsigned, non-binding renewal Order draft. It is ready for review, but it is not booked. It does not reserve capacity, change live delivery, or create revenue.

## Turn the renewal draft into a Campaign

1. Open the renewal draft from the completion record.
2. Check the source Order and the attached performance evidence.
3. Complete the normal buyer, Campaign, Brief, and Flight planning steps.
4. Request the configured commercial review.
5. Commit the new proposal only after the buyer terms are correct.
6. Forecast and reserve capacity for the new Campaign.
7. Complete creative, readiness, and publication checks.

The new Campaign has its own Order, Flights, capacity, evidence, and money records. The completed Campaign remains unchanged.

## Create a make-good Campaign

Create a separate Campaign when the make-good needs its own buyer record, schedule, reporting, or approval. You can also add a Makegood Flight to a separate follow-up Campaign that already exists.

1. Open **Campaigns**.
2. Create a new Campaign or use the completed Campaign as a starting point.
3. Name the Campaign so the buyer and operators can identify the make-good.
4. Add the source Campaign or accepted claim reference to the objective or reason.
5. Add a Flight.
6. Select the correct media, inventory, measurement, schedule, audience, goal, and pacing.
7. Set **Guarantee class** to **Makegood**.
8. Set **Flight budget** to `0`.
9. Set **Rate** to `0`.
10. Enter the reason for the replacement delivery.
11. Select **Propose flight**.

![The One Podigee Add flight dialog shows Makegood as the guarantee class with a zero Flight budget and zero rate.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-3cf7ddd0b35e1bf5a8e34b361a58302a3668a579%2Fdoc-monetization-041-makegood-flight.jpg?alt=media)

*A Makegood Flight replaces an accepted delivery obligation. It does not create new contracted revenue.*

## Forecast and launch the make-good

A zero commercial value does not remove the delivery requirements.

1. Calculate a fresh forecast for the Makegood Flight.
2. Reserve the required capacity.
3. Assign an eligible and approved creative.
4. Complete the configured review rule.
5. Check the source Campaign or claim reference.
6. Run readiness checks.
7. Publish the follow-up Campaign.
8. Monitor qualified delivery until the make-good goal is complete.

Keep the make-good delivery evidence separate from the original paid delivery. This makes the buyer outcome, internal cost, and replacement value clear.

## Solve common problems

| Problem | Cause | Safe action |
| ------------------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| No source Order is available | The source is not signed or the current user cannot access it. | Select a signed Order or ask an administrator for the correct access. |
| Performance evidence is missing or expired | The renewal cannot bind to current governed evidence. | Create a current evidence package before you submit the renewal. |
| The renewal terms are wrong | A default from the source Order does not match the next agreement. | Change the draft terms before commercial review. |
| The renewal appears booked | A later operator action committed it as a normal Order or Campaign. | Check the completion record. The initial renewal action creates only a non-binding draft. |
| The Makegood Flight requires a positive budget or rate | The guarantee class is not Makegood. | Select **Makegood**, then use zero for both values. |
| The make-good is counted as new revenue | A paid guarantee class or nonzero commercial value was used. | Correct the new version before approval and keep the completed records unchanged. |
| The follow-up cannot launch | Capacity, creative, approval, or readiness is incomplete. | Resolve the current blocker and publish only after all checks pass. |

## Expected result

The renewal exists as a separate, evidence-backed commercial draft, or the make-good exists as a separate zero-value delivery promise. The completed Campaign remains unchanged. Every follow-up has its own review, capacity, creative, publication, delivery, and evidence trail.

Next, prepare and assign the audio or video ads that the Campaign needs.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.podigee.com/documentation/grow-and-monetize/monetization/create-a-make-good-or-renewal-campaign.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
