# Create and commit a Marketplace deal

Create one governed Marketplace deal from a qualified buyer and a sellable Inventory package.

This task shows how to create one commercial deal in the Podigee Audio Video Ad Server. You bind a qualified buyer to a published Inventory package, enter the signed order terms, and commit the deal for Campaign planning.

The deal is the commercial record. The Campaign is the delivery record that the commit creates. The commit does not publish an ad and does not replace creative, break, launch, or delivery checks.

## Before you start

You need:

* Access to **Monetization** and permission to commit Marketplace deals.
* A published Inventory package with an active Marketplace enrollment.
* A buyer with a current **Eligible** or allowed conditional qualification.
* The buyer legal entity and advertised brand that belong to that buyer.
* The signed order or insertion order with its number, dates, volume, price, budget, currency, media, targeting, fee, settlement, payout, and capacity terms.

If the package or buyer is not ready, stop and fix that record first. Do not use a different buyer or package to bypass a failed check.

## 1. Open the Marketplace deal workflow

1. Go to **Monetization > Revenue jobs**.
2. Open **Marketplace transactions**.
3. Select **Commit Marketplace transactions**.
4. Select the podcast or workspace where the deal applies.
5. Select the qualified buyer.
6. Select the published Inventory package that is enrolled for Marketplace demand.

The form shows the current saved version of each selected record. Check the version shown in each selector before you enter the deal terms.

*Start with the exact buyer and Inventory package. The deal number links the commercial record to the signed order.*

## 2. Enter the buyer and schedule

1. Enter the deal or insertion-order number.
2. Select the buyer legal entity.
3. Select the advertised brand.
4. Set the start date and time.
5. Set the end date and time.

The legal entity and brand must belong to the selected buyer. The deal window must be inside the valid window of the Inventory package and its Marketplace enrollment.

Do not enter a date range that ends before it starts. Do not use a new package version only because the old version does not cover the requested dates. Publish and enroll the correct package version, then start the deal again.

## 3. Choose the demand source

Select the source that matches the signed order:

* **Direct sale** for a deal sold and managed directly by the Podigee operator.
* **Podigee marketplace** for a deal that uses the package enrollment and Marketplace buyer rules.
* **Connected demand platform** for an external programmatic connection with a current, certified integration contract.

For a Marketplace deal, the buyer qualification, package enrollment, price floor, fee, settlement, payout, media, billable unit, and targeting must match the active Marketplace terms. An external programmatic deal also needs its active demand connection and external deal reference. Do not select an external source when the order is a Podigee Marketplace sale.

## 4. Define delivery and pricing

1. Select **Audio** or **Video**.
2. Select the billable result, such as **Qualified audio impression**.
3. Enter the booked volume.
4. Select the pricing model: CPM, CPV, or CPCV when the package supports it.
5. Enter the agreed rate.
6. Enter the budget.
7. Select the currency.

The budget must match the signed order and the selected pricing model. For CPM, use:

```
budget = booked impressions / 1,000 x CPM rate
```

For example, 100,000 impressions at EUR 24.50 CPM have a budget of EUR 2,450.00. For CPV or CPCV, use the billable quantity and the selected rate unit. Stop if the amount does not match the signed order.

*Set delivery and price together. This keeps the forecast, reservation, and money records aligned.*

## 5. Set commitment, targeting, and finance

1. Select the commercial commitment:
   * **Guaranteed delivery** when the order promises the booked volume.
   * **Flexible delivery** when the order allows delivery below or above the plan under its terms.
   * **Sponsorship** when the order is a sponsorship commitment.
2. Select the capacity commitment:
   * **Reserve capacity** for a firm reservation.
   * **Provisional hold** for a temporary hold that is not yet a firm reservation.
3. Select the allowed markets.
4. Select the content categories.
5. Enter the Podigee fee.
6. Select the buyer settlement profile.
7. Select the publisher payout cadence.
8. Add the purchase order reference when the buyer supplied one.

Markets and content categories use controlled values. Select the values that are present in the package and signed order. Do not enter comma-separated text or create a new value to make the form accept an incorrect target.

*The commitment and finance fields turn the signed order into one governed commercial record.*

For a Marketplace booking, the fee, publisher share, settlement, payout, price floor, and package version must match the active enrollment. The system rejects a mismatch instead of creating a deal that cannot be reconciled.

## 6. Review and commit

1. Compare every value with the signed order.
2. Check the buyer, package version, dates, volume, rate, budget, markets, categories, and finance terms.
3. Enter the reason for the commitment when the workflow asks for one.
4. Confirm that you reviewed the details and authorize the action.
5. Select **Apply action**.
6. Wait for the result page. Do not submit the same deal again while the first action is running.

The commit records the exact terms and creates the Campaign, delivery line, and capacity result. It also creates a receipt that identifies the committed deal and its saved versions.

## 7. Check the result

1. Open **Monetization > Campaigns**.
2. Open the Campaign with the deal number.
3. Check **Commercial approval**.
4. Check **Inventory and reservation**.
5. Check the Campaign window, delivery line, and reserved quantity.
6. Continue with creative assignment, break placement, and launch checks.

![Committed Marketplace Campaign with commercial approval, inventory and reservation, creative coverage, and the launch-check action.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-61a85f638ac04e17eea0886c5e2cad1194dc5704%2Fdoc-monetization-009-campaign-readiness.png?alt=media)

*A committed deal is ready for Campaign work. It is not ready to deliver until the remaining checks pass.*

The commit does not create a buyer, change the buyer credit limit, enroll the package, upload a creative, create an ad break, or publish a Campaign. Complete those jobs in their own workflows.

## Common commit blockers

| Message or state | What it means | What to do |
| ---------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Buyer is not eligible | The buyer cannot make this commitment under the current credit policy. | Review buyer readiness and correct the credit or qualification record. |
| Package update required | The selected package version is not the active version for the requested window. | Publish and enroll the correct package version. |
| Deal delivery is incompatible | The media, billable result, market, or category is not supported by the package. | Select supported controlled values or correct the package. |
| Commercial terms are invalid | The budget, rate, price model, fee, or share does not agree. | Recalculate the amount and compare it with the signed order and enrollment. |
| Marketplace participation is unavailable | The package or buyer is not active for Marketplace demand. | Check the package enrollment and buyer qualification. |
| Marketplace terms do not match | The deal does not match the enrolled price, fee, settlement, payout, or package version. | Correct the deal or publish a new enrollment before committing. |
| Demand connection is invalid | An external programmatic source is missing a current certified connection. | Use the correct connection or choose the demand source that matches the order. |

Correct the source record or deal terms. Do not create a second deal to hide the failed commit.

## Result

You now have one committed Marketplace deal with an exact buyer, package, schedule, delivery plan, targeting, price, and finance record. The next job is to make the Campaign ready, then verify that the delivery and money evidence agree after ads run.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.podigee.com/documentation/grow-and-monetize/monetization/create-and-commit-a-marketplace-deal.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
