# Create and run a governed report

Create a reproducible report with the correct metrics, dimensions, filters, time zone, currency, and evidence rules.

Use a governed report in the Podigee Audio Video Ad Server when a saved view is not enough. A report keeps its metric definitions, dimensions, filters, period, time zone, privacy class, and output format together. You can run the same definition again and compare the result with the correct evidence.

## Before you start

You need report read permission. You need report management permission to create and run a report. Select the correct Monetization workspace. Confirm that the metric definitions you need are published. If the page asks you to prepare standard measurements first, complete that setup before you create the report.

## Create the report

1. Open **Monetization > Evidence & Money**.
2. Select **Create report**.
3. Choose a report family, such as Campaign delivery or settlement operations.
4. Choose the breakdown, such as Campaign, Flight, Podcast, episode, market, or day.
5. Choose the scope.
6. Enter a name that describes the business question.
7. Choose the output format.
8. Choose the time zone used to group periods.
9. Choose the privacy class.
10. Open the specialist options when you need a specific metric or evidence rule.
11. Select **Save report**.

*Choose the scope and metric context before you save the report.*

![The current One Podigee guided report form lets an operator choose the business question, scope, output format, reporting time zone, and privacy class.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-cc4b88df7e6d532602eba850deeef2f891be0337%2Fdoc-monetization-082-report-builder.png?alt=media)

*Choose a business question and controlled result settings before you save the report.*

Use one report definition for one question. A report for campaign pacing should not silently change into a finance report because a different filter is easier. Save a new version when the question, scope, metric, or evidence rule changes.

## Choose metrics and units

Select metrics that use compatible units. Keep audio impressions, video starts, video completions, audience downloads, revenue, and cost in separate columns unless a published metric definition explicitly gives them a common unit.

The report detail keeps each metric's name, reporting key, unit, evidence profile, revision, and definition digest. Use that detail when you need to explain why two reports show different values.

## Choose filters, period, and currency

Match these settings to the question:

* **Scope:** the workspace, show, Campaign, Flight, Inventory package, market, or destination.
* **Breakdown:** the row grouping, such as Flight or day.
* **Period:** the start and end time used by the report run.
* **Time zone:** the zone used to form daily and weekly boundaries.
* **Currency:** the currency of money columns. Do not combine currencies in one total.
* **Privacy class:** the level of detail the recipient is allowed to see.
* **Evidence rule:** the source and qualification state that make a row count.

If you need a different period or time zone, run the same report definition with the new period. Do not change the definition only to correct a historical result.

## Run the report

1. Open **Monetization > Evidence & Money**.
2. Find the saved report.
3. Select **Run report**.
4. Choose the reporting period when the form asks for one.
5. Wait for the run to complete.
6. Open the run detail.
7. Read the data-as-of time, metric definition versions, row count, and output format.
8. Open the preview or download the permitted result.

The preview presents business labels for the selected breakdown, measurement, result, and revenue. The run is not a new ad decision. Running a report does not serve an ad, reserve capacity, or change a Campaign.

![The current One Podigee report detail shows a completed report run with its period, row result, completion time, download action, secure sharing action, and evidence-package action.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-e23ac1ef67626995e001d80d66988963f02747aa%2Fdoc-monetization-082-completed-report.png?alt=media)

*Use Report history to confirm that the result completed before you share or download it.*

## Read a result safely

Check the report definition before you use a number:

1. Confirm the scope and Campaign or Flight version.
2. Confirm the period and time zone.
3. Confirm the metric unit and evidence profile.
4. Confirm the privacy class and aggregation.
5. Confirm the data-as-of time.
6. Check whether the run completed or needs attention.
7. Compare money values only within the same currency.

Use **Evidence & Money** for a portfolio view. Use a Campaign view for Flight pacing. Use a reconciliation case when two authoritative sources still disagree.

## Keep reports reproducible

The saved report retains its current specification. A new metric definition version does not rewrite an older report run. When you change the business question, save a new report or a new version with a clear name and effective period.

Keep the report name specific. Good names include **Northstar Q3 audio delivery by Flight** and **DACH qualified video starts by day**. Avoid names such as **Test report** or **Current numbers**.

To share a completed result, select **Share securely** in Report history. Choose an authorized teammate, purpose, access duration, and download limit. Select **Create secure access**. Do not copy a raw result URL into an unrestricted channel.

![The current One Podigee secure report access form shows purpose, access duration, download limit, and the action to create time-limited access for an authorized teammate.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-39c4c7608e8068dc6b6ed2ed5078a3416cafc403%2Fdoc-monetization-082-secure-sharing.png?alt=media)

*Give access only for the purpose and period that the recipient needs.*

| A metric is not listed | Check that its current definition is published and that your permission includes it. |

| The run shows no rows | Check the period, scope, privacy threshold, and data-as-of time. |
| The run is not complete | Open the run state and retry only when the page permits it. Do not count an incomplete run. |
| A report disagrees with Campaign performance | Match the Campaign version, period, time zone, metric definition, attribution, and qualification rule. |

## Expected result

You have a saved report that answers one business question, uses explicit metric and evidence definitions, and can be run again with the same meaning. The result shows its period, time zone, scope, privacy state, data freshness, and output evidence so another operator can reproduce it.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.podigee.com/documentation/grow-and-monetize/monetization/create-and-run-a-governed-report.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
