# Sales planner learning path

A guided path from a buyer brief to a priced, forecast, and reviewable Campaign plan.

This path helps a sales planner turn an authorized buyer brief into a Campaign that the delivery team can fulfill. It explains buyer records, commercial terms, CPM and CPV, forecast, capacity, and handoff to campaign operations.

![The One Podigee Campaign proposal shows the buyer objective, schedule, budget, media, markets, and launch boundary before creation.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-7d89501e16d24927917d04ee2b84e8c9b2e0281a%2Fdoc-monetization-030-campaign-proposal.jpg?alt=media)

*Review the complete commercial promise before you create the Campaign and its Flights.*

## Before you start

Read [New solo operator learning path](/documentation/grow-and-monetize/monetization/new-solo-operator-learning-path.md) for the basic product workflow. You also need:

* Permission to plan Campaigns and view commercial records.
* An authorized buyer brief with dates, budget, audience, and delivery goals.
* A Commercial account, brand, and legal entity for the buyer.
* A seller authority and a published Inventory package for the planned show and dates.
* The agreed price for each media type.

## Turn the brief into a plan

### 1. Confirm the commercial identity

Use [Create or link a Commercial account](/documentation/grow-and-monetize/monetization/create-or-link-a-commercial-account.md). Search before you create. Keep the organization, brand, legal entity, buyer, and billing recipient separate when they are different records.

Use [Add and classify a brand](/documentation/grow-and-monetize/monetization/add-and-classify-a-brand.md) when the brand needs a category or competitive separation rule.

### 2. Record the buyer brief

Use [Turn a buyer brief into a Campaign proposal](/documentation/grow-and-monetize/monetization/turn-a-buyer-brief-into-a-campaign-proposal.md). Enter the objective, markets, audience, dates, budget, order reference, and authorized terms. Select audio, video, or both. Select an Inventory package that supports every requested media type and date.

### 3. Set the commercial measures

Use cost per thousand qualified audio impressions (CPM) for audio. Use cost per qualified video start (CPV) for video. Enter the target and rate for each Flight. The planned value must stay within the Campaign budget.

Do not use a free-text currency or market value when a controlled value is available. Use [Set currencies, markets, and controlled values](/documentation/grow-and-monetize/monetization/set-currencies-markets-and-controlled-values.md) to check the workspace defaults.

### 4. Test the promise with a forecast

Open the Campaign capacity view and select a forecast for each Flight. Review available supply, expected delivery, fill rate, revenue, and delivery cost. Compare the result with the buyer promise before you reserve capacity.

![The One Podigee Capacity page shows a selected video forecast with enough supply, expected delivery, revenue, cost, and a Reserve capacity action.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-293947828d3e1fd17ff90edb55d2b157c3becbcc%2Fdoc-monetization-038-forecast-selected.jpg?alt=media)

*Selection alone does not protect capacity. The reservation must succeed.*

Use [Reserve and change capacity](/documentation/grow-and-monetize/monetization/reserve-and-change-capacity.md) to create the reservation. If the result is too low, change the dates, eligible supply, target, or price before you present the plan.

### 5. Send a reviewable handoff

Review the full proposal, including the buyer, Flight dates, media, markets, CPM or CPV, forecast, and reserved capacity. Send the exact version to the campaign operator. Keep questions in the linked Team inbox discussion instead of a private message.

## What this path does not do

This path does not publish delivery. It does not upload a Creative, assign a Creative to a Flight, or change an episode ad break. The campaign operator completes those tasks after the commercial promise is accepted.

## If the plan does not fit

* **The buyer does not exist:** search again before creating a new Commercial account.
* **The price is missing:** confirm the buyer terms and enter CPM or CPV for each requested media type.
* **The forecast is too low:** select more eligible supply or change the promise before you reserve capacity.
* **The Inventory package does not support the request:** choose a package with the correct media, markets, and dates.
* **The budget does not match the Flight values:** correct the rates or goals, then review the total planned value again.

## Expected result

The Campaign proposal has a clear buyer, authorized terms, controlled values, priced Flights, a forecast, and a successful capacity reservation. The delivery team receives one version that it can prepare and publish without guessing what the buyer purchased.

## Next useful path

Continue with the Campaign and traffic operator learning path to assign Creatives, run preflight, publish, and monitor pacing.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.podigee.com/documentation/grow-and-monetize/monetization/sales-planner-learning-path.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
