# Use Approvals

Find and decide review requests for the exact item version that needs approval.

Use **Approvals** when a Campaign, Creative, inventory package, policy, or other important change needs a formal decision. Each request keeps the item version, review rule, expiry, and decision together.

## Before you start

Select the correct Monetization workspace. You need permission to view the workspace. You also need reviewer permission before you can approve, return, or reject a request.

Some workspaces require another person to review a change. Other workspaces permit the same operator to request and confirm a change. The request page tells you which rule applies.

## Find a request

Open **Monetization > Approvals**.

![The current One Podigee Approvals page shows search, state and item type filters, and a list of review requests.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-9b06f9ffac8b268818d85c7300eb5c62c213ba72%2Fdoc-monetization-069-approval-list.png?alt=media)

*Search or filter the list before you open a review request.*

You can:

* search by item type, request message, or short reference;
* filter by state, such as **Pending**, **Approved**, **Returned**, or **Expired**;
* filter by item type;
* sort by creation time, expiry, or item type;
* move through the result pages.

Use **Pending** to find requests that still need a decision. Use the other states to check earlier decisions and their evidence.

## Check the exact item and review rule

Select **Open** on the request.

![The current One Podigee review page shows a pending request for Northstar Coffee, the decision threshold, the item version, and the Campaign commercial approval policy.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-81a9c4c62554e0d620a7b5a0aa58cf40362931b4%2Fdoc-monetization-069-review.png?alt=media)

*Confirm the item, version, policy, and expiry before you decide.*

Check these details:

* **State** tells you whether the request still needs a decision.
* **Decisions recorded** shows the required number of decisions and the current number.
* **Item version** identifies the version that your decision will cover.
* **Reference** and **version fingerprint** let support staff or another operator identify the exact saved item. Use the copy button when you need the full value.
* **Review rule** tells you whether solo confirmation, optional review, or an independent reviewer is required.
* **Expires** tells you how long the request remains valid.
* **Why this review is needed** explains the purpose of the request.

The page also shows information for the item type. For example, a Campaign review can show its commercial terms and forecast. A Creative review can show the media preview and preparation state.

## Make the decision

Scroll to the decision controls.

![The current One Podigee review page shows actions to approve the displayed version or return or reject it with written feedback.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-6df545c3f9a001baa7751760a8063d5559ad2346%2Fdoc-monetization-069-decision-actions.png?alt=media)

*Approve the displayed version, or give a clear reason for the next action.*

Choose one action:

* Select **Approve version** when the displayed version is acceptable.
* Select **Return for changes** when a specific correction can make the version acceptable. Enter a clear next action in **Decision feedback**.
* Select **Reject** when the displayed version must not proceed. Enter the reason in **Decision feedback**.

Your decision applies only to the displayed version. If the item changes later, the new version needs a new review when the policy requires one.

## Work with an independent review rule

If the review rule requires another person, the item author cannot decide the request. Ask an authorized reviewer to open the same request. The page explains that another reviewer is needed and does not show decision actions to the author.

If the rule is **Solo confirmation**, one authorized operator can request and decide the review. This rule lets an individual operator use the Ad Server without an unnecessary handoff.

## Check the recorded result

After you decide, Podigee records the decision and changes the request state.

![The current One Podigee review page shows an approved request with one recorded decision out of one required decision.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-771385da4d4dc63f8d2e4aee6356b7f3b01d6ddf%2Fdoc-monetization-069-approved.png?alt=media)

*The result remains attached to the reviewed item version and policy.*

An approval satisfies the review requirement for this item version. Other readiness or publication checks can still apply before the item becomes active.

![The current One Podigee review page shows a returned request with one recorded decision and a confirmation that the decision was recorded.](https://2032417310-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbqUKO6lljHGzkEAzliPI%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-9e37f89a80b42c3d18730fd9c3371f8017b9b741%2Fdoc-monetization-069-returned.png?alt=media)

*A returned request keeps the decision and feedback with the reviewed version.*

A returned request keeps the feedback for the item owner. The owner can correct the item and send the new version for review. A rejected request records that the reviewed version must not proceed.

## Cancel a request

The requester or a workspace administrator can cancel a pending request. Select **Cancel request**, then confirm the action in the One Podigee dialog. Cancellation closes the request. It does not approve or change the item.

## Work with expired or completed requests

You cannot decide a request that is expired, canceled, approved, rejected, or returned. Create or open the current request for the latest item version instead.

## Expected result

The decision is recorded for the correct item version, under the displayed review policy. The request history shows who decided, what the result was, and whether a new item version needs a new review.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.podigee.com/documentation/grow-and-monetize/monetization/use-approvals.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
