# Delete an episode permanently

Permanently delete one episode only after reviewing the irreversible effect.

Delete an episode only when taking it offline as a draft cannot meet the goal.

## Before you start

* Read the episode and confirm its ID, podcast, title, and publication state.
* Confirm that permanent removal is the user's explicit intent.
* Review the effect on connected platforms.

## Delete the episode

1. Ask your agent to preview `delete_episode` with the episode ID and `dry_run: true`.
2. Review the exact target and permanent consequence.
3. Confirm that draft mode is not a suitable reversible alternative.
4. Submit the exact confirmation once.
5. Verify that the result reports `deleted: true` with the intended episode ID.
6. Confirm that the episode can no longer be read from Podigee.

Deletion cannot be undone. Podigee does not provide an MCP restore tool for deleted episodes.

## Expected result

Podigee permanently removes the episode and starts removal from connected platforms.

## If deletion is rejected

Do not target another ID. Confirm account access, delete permission, episode state, and the freshness of the confirmation. Request a new preview when needed.

## External platform recovery

Connected platforms control their own refresh timing. Preserve the deletion result and verify each important external destination separately.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.podigee.com/documentation/start-here/ai-agents/manage-episodes/delete-an-episode-permanently.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
