# Inspect podcast settings

Read one podcast's public metadata, feed context, categories, and encoding settings.

Read the full podcast detail before you change metadata, upload media, or configure distribution.

## Before you start

* Find the podcast in the connected Podigee account.
* Keep its numeric podcast ID.

## Inspect the podcast

1. Ask your agent to get the podcast by ID.
2. Confirm the ID, title, subdomain, language, and publication type.
3. Review the description, authors, website, explicit setting, owner email, and categories.
4. Review the RSS feed URL and cover image URL.
5. Review `quality` as the audio encoding profile for new media.
6. Review `feed_items` as the number of recent episodes listed in one RSS page.
7. Review whether transcriptions are enabled.
8. Keep the read-back for comparison before any update.

`quality` does not judge the editorial or production quality of the show. `feed_items` is not the podcast's total episode count. Older episodes can remain available through paged feeds.

## Expected result

You have the current settings for the exact podcast and can identify which values need attention.

## If the podcast cannot be read

Confirm the podcast ID, connected account, and access rights. Do not use an ID from another tenant.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.podigee.com/documentation/start-here/ai-agents/manage-podcasts/inspect-podcast-settings.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
