# Read an episode transcript

Read a long episode transcript as ordered, paginated segments with timing context.

Use transcript segments as source material for summaries, quotes, show notes, and clip ideas.

## Before you start

* Find and inspect the episode.
* Confirm that transcript availability is true and note the segment count.

## Read the transcript

1. Ask your agent to get the transcript for the episode ID.
2. Review each segment's start, end, text, and speaker ID when present.
3. Preserve the returned order.
4. If `pagination.next_offset` is present, request the next page with that offset.
5. Continue until you reach the final page or have enough source material for the task.
6. Keep timestamps with any quote or clip idea.

The default page contains 25 segments. You can request up to 100 at once.

## Expected result

You have time-ordered source text tied to the intended episode and can trace derived content back to specific segments.

## If the transcript is empty

Confirm the episode ID and transcript availability. An older or incomplete transcript record can have no readable segments. Do not invent transcript text or present metadata as spoken content.
